Rid yourself of negativity....extract pg 92

“Today at free time, find a peaceful spot. Sit on your own and write on the pad who has hurt you and why. No-one will ever read it, so you can put every thought and emotion down on paper. Then write at the bottom: ‘I forgive you and cast you out to the universe’. You can fill up several notepads if you wish. Lana has more and you can write about as many people or experiences as you want. Bring them here at meditation time and you will burn them in the fire. The negativity will be cast out to the universe and disperse. It is unhealthy to keep bad feelings within as it can manifest into physical or mental illness and cause you to leak energy.”

Instead, it was a reaction to the tale of Mike’s wrath that coloured her body like an obscene oil painting...

Indigo Awakes is available: www.stephaniedewinter.co.uk
Indigo gazed at the loch with apprehension.  It was surrounded by dark green forest and was both intimidating and primitive. Frosty rain punctured the smooth surface with a million tiny pin pricks.  The water was black.  God only knew what was lurching in the freezing depths.  William had already left the van and stripped off down to his swimming shorts.  He had the physic of a gymnast.  Strong shoulders, developed biceps, a six pack and tapered waist. His legs were muscular and strong.  Flexing his muscles, he banged on her window.

“Out.”

Hesitantly, she opened the door.

“I’ll undress in here so that my dry clothes don’t get wet.”

Indigo stripped down to her swimsuit but left her t-shirt on. She stepped out of the van.

“That’ll weigh you down, English.  Get it off,” William tugged at her t-shirt jokingly.  Indigo looked at him defensively.  The atmosphere changed, and he stepped back. “Seriously, it will. I’m sorry I wasn’t being smutty.” He looked down for a moment embarrassed.

Indigo didn’t know what to do.  If she took the t-shirt off, then he would know that the bruises hadn’t been caused by an accident. But he knew that anyway.  She felt mortified.  She felt like going off in a mood to avoid the situation, but William would be upset and their friendship would be tainted.

She took the t-shirt off and heard his intake of breath.  It was a pity that it wasn’t because he’d seen her magnificent body for the first time.  Instead, it was a reaction to the tale of Mike’s wrath that coloured her body like an obscene oil painting.  Indigo didn’t know how to deal with his eyes taking in the hurt inflicted by the past.  For a moment his eyes left her body and met hers.  His were full of questions and anger. Hers held the need for avoidance.

Recipe for Stilton and Broccoli soup and Salmon with veg from Indigo Awakes - the novel.

Broccoli and Stilton Soup

Ingredience

Two small onions
Two broccoli trees
Two medium sized potatoes
Four carrots
100 gram Stilton
2 Knorr vegetable stock cubes

Method

"Indigo checked Wallace after an hour.  He was sleeping and his breathing was easy and regular.  Chopping onions, broccoli, potato and carrots, she fried the onions before throwing in the other ingredience with water plus two stock cubes. When it was cooked she liquidised the mixture and added salt, pepper and stilton.  That would do for Wallace's tea, and William could have some too.  She put a bowl of soup onto a tray with salt, pepper, bread and a cup of coffee, and headed back to his room.

He was awake and had eased himself into a sitting position.
'You're an angel,' he said, eyeing the dinner tray, 'just what my stomach ordered.'"

Salmon with Vegetables

Ingredience
Oven gas mark 4/180
2 125 gram Salmon Fillets (skin on or off)
Butter
Salt & Pepper
Tin Foil
Broccoli
New Potatoes

Method

"Feeling miserable, she went home and began preparing dinner. Pouring herself a glass of wine, she put her iPod on the docking station and blared out Linkin Park. She had half an hour before Mike was due home from work.  Placing fresh salmon on tin foil she added butter, salt and pepper, wrapped it and put it in the oven on low. New potatoes and broccoli were steaming way on the hob.

She heard the door bang. Automatically she turned down the volume.

'That's a bit loud Babe.'
'Sorry.'

He came up to her and began running his hands over her body. The old magic that used to melt her body into his so that it was impossible to resist had died a dreary death. Death by abuse and tedium. He moved his hand downwards. Indigo restrained him gently.

'Dinner's cooking.'"
